Organically grown Chive Seeds - Harvested and Packaged locally from our own garden.

Chives (Allium schoenoprasum)

Fun Fact: Chives are annoying to many pest insects due to their sulphur compounds. Their flowers, however attract bees and other pollinators, and they are great to increase beneficial insect life to your vegetable garden. The flowers of the chive family are also quite attractive to humans!

Preparation and growing conditions: Well-draining soil.

Sowing: 5mm deep at 15 cm apart.

Climate: Full sun.

Companion Plants: Cucumbers, Celery, Basil, Capsicum, Tomatoes, Coriander, Dill, Kale, Broccoli, Strawberries, Cauliflower, Carrots, Lettuce and Chilli.

Avoid Planting with: Beans, Peas, Sage, Spinach, Oregano, Asparagus and Thyme.

Fertiliser and feeding: Needs minimal fertiliser.

Germination: 7 - 14 days

Harvesting: 60 - 90 days.

Storage: Keep in the crisper section of the refrigerator wrapped in damp paper towel. 

Minimum of 20 seeds per pack. Beautifully packaged in resealable, lightproof Ziplock packaging, designed to keep seeds fresh.
