Air Plant - Tillandsia Schiedeana with hanging timber mount
Air plants (Tillandsia) originate from Mexico and South America. They are naturally found growing on the branches or trunks of trees or rocks. Instead of getting their nutrients from soil, air plants feed themselves with.... you guessed it, air!
These clever little guys prefer to see that indirect sunlight and enjoy good airflow, so if kept indoors, ensure it is in a nicely ventilated area.
They enjoy being misted, but soaking these funky mind-blowing little garden gems, is another way, or at least the main way to keep them happy. If using tap water, allow the water to sit overnight and to allow the chlorine to dissipate before soaking them for 20 minutes. Take them out and place them on paper towel or give them a gentle shake to take off excess moisture before placing them back in their normal spot or mount, if you have one. Leaving too much moisture on air plants for extended periods can cause rot or brown leaf tips.
Slow growth up to 20cm - indoor or outdoor.
*Plant and mount included.
*Please note - your air plant and mount may vary slightly to the photos shown.
