Organically grown Spring Onion (Allium fistulosum) Seeds - Harvested and Packaged locally from our own garden.
Fun Fact: Spring Onion has great antibacterial and antiviral properties, it can assist in fighting viral colds and flu. It also helps in reducing excess mucus during bouts of illness.
Preparation and growing conditions: Well-draining soil.
Sowing: 0.5 mm deep at 25 cm apart.
Climate: Full sun.
Companion Plants: Radish, Brassica family (Cabbage, Cauliflower and Broccoli), Rosemary, Dill, Mint and Chamomile. *Mint spreads underground runners and will invade the garden if not kept under control.
Avoid Planting with: Beans, Peas, Sage, Garlic and Leeks.
Fertiliser and feeding: Needs minimal fertiliser.
Germination: 7 - 10 days
Harvesting: 8 weeks. Pull plants up by the root, or snip off what you need regularly to encourage better yields from the remaining plant.
Storage: Keep in the crisper section of the refrigerator. Alternatively, place your harvested spring onions in a jar of water to keep them fresh. You can also freeze or dehydrate your spring onion for later use.
Minimum of 20 seeds per pack. Beautifully packaged in resealable, lightproof Ziplock packaging, designed to keep seeds fresh.
